I don’t generally get too woo-woo with you folks, but lately I’ve discovered something cool that really deserves sharing.

I’m a big meditator — have been at it for 20+ years pretty much every day, give or take a week or two now and then. For many years, I’ve ‘felt’ my connection to spiritual guidance in my body, and it has informed most of my decisions, both business and personal.

So lately, I’ve taken to coaching from that same meditative space. I sit down on my cushion, go into lotus, and get on with the session. I’m conscious, of course (and even making sense!) I’ve even got pen and paper, relevant client files and my wired laptop spread out in front of me. But I am phsyically in that meditative realm, and can feel, in my gut, clearer guidance for my clients.

Mind you, I’ve not discussed this particular style of working with my clients, but almost every time I coach this way, I get a follow up email saying ‘Wow - that was really one of the best sessions I’ve ever had!’ Maybe it’s the intense calm and the undistracted focus that results … or maybe it is the presence of some kind of spiritual energy in the session. These days I’m doing pretty much all of my sessions this way.

All I know is that I can better access the information and coaching I need to give these folks when I go into that place. If you’re inclined to meditate, or even if you’re not, may I invite you to try an experiment. Go into that calm, centered mode the next time you need to work on something highly important. Perhaps meditate for a few minutes beforehand, and then open your eyes to begin your work, spread out before you. You may be surprised at the results!

And by the way, if you’re curious about my coaching, I do work with a very limited number of private clients. You can learn more by emailing my assistant, Lorraine Carol, at lorraine@getknownnow.com
